PSL Matchday 7 Preview: Fixtures and Kick-Off Times

📋 PSL Matchday Preview

Welcome to our PSL Matchday 7 preview. Matchday 7 of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership is a seven fixture round played across Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September. Two quick notes before the fixture list. Mamelodi Sundowns and Siwelele are not in action because they have already played each other, with Sundowns winning 3-0 at Loftus Versfeld on 9 September. And two of this round’s games, Richards Bay vs Sekhukhune and Polokwane vs AmaZulu, had already finished by the time this preview went up, so we’ve included their results and focused the preview on the five matches still to come.

PSL Matchday 7 Preview: Fixtures and Kick-Off Times

Richards Bay vs Sekhukhune

Saturday, 19 September, 15:00 (full time: Richards Bay 2, Sekhukhune 3)

Sekhukhune won a five goal thriller to move onto 11 points, level with Milford in the top six. Richards Bay are still without a win after seven matches, and this defeat follows last weekend’s 5-1 loss at Milford, leaving them 14th on 3 points.

Polokwane vs AmaZulu

Saturday, 19 September, 17:30 (full time: Polokwane 0, AmaZulu 1)

Thando Ngwenya scored after just four minutes and that was enough for AmaZulu, who are now third on 16 points with five wins from seven. Ngwenya leads the league’s scoring charts. Polokwane, who have drawn four of their seven matches, sit eighth on 7 points.

Kruger United vs Stellenbosch

Saturday, 19 September, 20:00

Kruger United picked up their first Betway Premiership win last weekend, a 1-0 result against 10 man TS Galaxy, but they are still 13th on 4 points with a goal difference of -8 after a 4-0 defeat to Pirates earlier this month. Stellenbosch have drawn their last two, 0-0 with Durban City and 1-1 with Sekhukhune, and sit ninth on 6 points with a level goal difference. Stellenbosch look the sounder side on paper, though Kruger will fancy their chances at home now that the first win is in the bank.

Golden Arrows vs Kaizer Chiefs

Sunday, 20 September, 15:00

Chiefs are unbeaten through six matches (3 wins, 3 draws) and sit fourth on 12 points, but they dropped points in a 1-1 draw at Polokwane last time out. Golden Arrows are even more draw prone, with four draws from six, and shared a 1-1 with Siwelele last weekend. This has the look of a tight game that one goal could settle.

Marumo Gallants vs Orlando Pirates

Sunday, 20 September, 15:00

See Match of the Round below.

Milford vs Durban City

Sunday, 20 September, 15:00

Milford are fifth on 11 points and arrive on the back of last weekend’s 5-1 win over Richards Bay, the biggest win of Matchday 6. Durban City are 11th on 6 points, winless in their last two, and have a short turnaround after Thursday night’s 2-0 defeat at Pirates. Milford at home are the side to lean toward.

TS Galaxy vs Chippa United

Sunday, 20 September, 17:30

TS Galaxy are 10th on 6 points and lost 1-0 at home to Kruger United last weekend after being reduced to 10 men. Chippa United have drawn five of their six matches, including a 1-1 with Sundowns, and have lost just once, but they are still waiting on a first win. Galaxy have the better goal difference (-1 against -3) and home advantage, so they are the lean here, though Chippa are very hard to beat.

🔥 Match of the Round: Marumo Gallants vs Orlando Pirates

Pirates are second on 16 points with 5 wins and a draw from 6, still unbeaten, and their +13 goal difference is the best in the league. They have played two games fewer than leaders Mamelodi Sundowns (20 points from 8), so a win in Rustenburg would take them to 19 points, one behind, with a game in hand at that stage. Marumo Gallants are bottom on 2 points, without a win in six and carrying a goal difference of -6, and a victory would at least lift them off the foot of the table. On paper this is the most one sided fixture of the round, which is exactly why it matters: Pirates winning, and by how much, is the result that shapes the top of the log.

Table Before the Remaining Matchday 7 Fixtures

This is the log as it stood on the evening of Saturday 19 September, after Sekhukhune’s win at Richards Bay and AmaZulu’s win at Polokwane. Sundowns have played 8, AmaZulu, Milford, Sekhukhune, Polokwane, Richards Bay and Siwelele have played 7, and everyone else has played 6.
