Dutching changes how the stake is distributed; it does not improve the odds. A positive result is only guaranteed when the selected outcomes cover every possible winning outcome and the combined odds produce a margin after rounding.

How the Dutching Formula Works
Stake for each selection = Equal return ÷ that selection’s odds
The calculator first adds the implied probabilities of all entered selections. It then allocates more money to shorter odds and less money to longer odds so that every selected winner produces approximately the same gross return.

Important coverage rule
A calculated positive margin is only a guaranteed result if your selections collectively cover every possible winning outcome and the bets are accepted and settled under compatible rules. Covering only two outcomes in a three-way football market leaves the third outcome uncovered.

What odds format should I enter?
Enter decimal odds, such as 1.85, 2.40 or 4.20. Decimal odds are commonly displayed by South African bookmakers.
Does Dutching guarantee a profit?
No. It only equalises returns across the selected outcomes. The combined odds may create an equal loss, and any uncovered outcome can lose the entire total stake.
Why do the stakes not add up perfectly after rounding?
Bookmakers accept stakes in currency increments. Rounding each suggested stake to cents can create a small difference in the final return.
Can I use Dutching across different bookmakers?
Mathematically yes, but odds can move, stake limits can apply and settlement rules may differ. Check every market before placing the bets.
