📋 PSL Weekend Wrap

Matchday 3 of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership season is now fully complete. Eight fixtures were played across the weekend of 14-16 August, with the ninth, Mamelodi Sundowns’ rescheduled clash with Marumo Gallants, played on 19 August once Sundowns returned from their delayed start to the season. Across all nine matches: 5 home wins, 1 away win and 3 draws. Kaizer Chiefs stayed unbeaten after a 1-1 draw with Sundowns in the weekend’s headline fixture, but it was Sundowns’ Wednesday-night win that pulled them level on points at the top. Friday, 14 August

Stellenbosch 3-1 Marumo Gallants

Quwan Plaatjies scored a hat-trick on his professional debut (13′, 28′, 54′). Stellenbosch’s first win of the season, at the third attempt.

Saturday, 15 August

AmaZulu 2-0 Siwelele

Mbanjwa and Ngwenya on target. The result lifted AmaZulu into the top four, level on points with Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs 1-1 Mamelodi Sundowns

Sekhukhune United 2-0 Polokwane City

Limpopo Derby win, bouncing back after a midweek defeat.

Durban City 1-1 Richards Bay

KZN derby. Both sides remain winless this season.

Milford FC 2-1 Kruger United

Milford’s second straight win, coming from behind after Kruger led through Ndlovu.

Sunday, 16 August

Chippa United 0-3 Orlando Pirates

Lungu (60′), Seema (64′) and substitute Msendami (87′) on target. Pirates end the weekend top of the table. Watch the highlights.

TS Galaxy 0-0 Golden Arrows

A tough week continues for Galaxy, coming off a heartbreaking last-minute defeat to Sundowns in midweek.

Wednesday, 19 August (rescheduled fixture)

Mamelodi Sundowns 2-0 Marumo Gallants

Sundowns’ postponed Matchday 1 fixture, finally played at Loftus Versfeld. Malibongwe Khoza and Cassius Mailula scored either side of half-time, completing Matchday 3 and pulling Sundowns level on points with the league’s top three.

Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, AmaZulu and Mamelodi Sundowns all sit on 7 points from three games apiece, with Pirates, Chiefs and Sundowns, in that order, separated only by goal difference at the top, and AmaZulu just behind.
