PSL Matchday 6 preview v1

PSL Matchday 6 Preview: Fixtures and Kick-Off Times

📋 PSL Matchday Preview

Welcome to our PSL Matchday 6 preview. Matchday 6 of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership runs from Friday 11 September through to Thursday 17 September, eight fixtures across a seven day window. One quick note before the fixture list: Mamelodi Sundowns show up in the standings on 7 matches played against 5 or 6 for everyone else, that’s because they’ve already played their Matchday 7 and Matchday 10 fixtures ahead of schedule. Their table position reflects those extra results, not an error. This preview covers the 8 matches still to come for the rest of the league this round.

PSL Matchday 6 Preview: Fixtures and Kick-Off Times

Stellenbosch vs Sekhukhune

Friday, 11 September, 19:30

Two sides separated by two points and both leaning heavily on draws this season, Stellenbosch have drawn twice and Sekhukhune once from their five matches so far. Neither side has looked convincing enough to call this a confident pick either way.

AmaZulu vs Marumo Gallants

Saturday, 12 September, 15:00

AmaZulu sit fourth on 10 points from 5 matches. Marumo Gallants are second bottom, still without a win in 5 and conceding at nearly twice the rate they score. On paper this is one of the more one sided fixtures of the round.

Polokwane vs Kaizer Chiefs

Saturday, 12 September, 15:00

Chiefs arrive unbeaten in 5 (3 wins, 2 draws) and sitting third. Polokwane have drawn three of their last five and rarely lose heavily, a stubborn home banker rather than an easy away day for the visitors.

Chippa United vs Mamelodi Sundowns

Saturday, 12 September, 17:30

See Match of the Round below.

Milford vs Richards Bay

Sunday, 13 September, 15:00

Milford sit fifth with 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses from 6 matches. Richards Bay are still winless through 5 matches, with 3 draws and 2 losses. A reasonable spot for Milford at home against a side yet to find a win.

Siwelele vs Golden Arrows

Sunday, 13 September, 15:00

Siwelele have just 2 points from 6 matches, the joint-lowest points total in the league. Golden Arrows have 6 points from 5 and a better goal difference, the away side to lean toward here.

TS Galaxy vs Kruger United

Sunday, 13 September, 17:30

Kruger United are bottom of the log without a win all season and have conceded 11 goals in 5 matches, including a 4-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates last time out. TS Galaxy’s home form has been patchy, but the gap in quality here is real.

Orlando Pirates vs Durban City

Thursday, 17 September, 19:30

Pirates sit second, unbeaten in 5 with the best goals-against record in the league. Durban City have drawn 3 of their 5 matches and lost just once, a well organised but low scoring side that will make Pirates work for a result.

🔥 Match of the Round: Chippa United vs Mamelodi Sundowns

Sundowns are 6 points clear at the top having played 2 games more than the rest of the pack, but the manner of it is the real story: 6 wins and a single draw from 7, an 18:6 goal record and the standout form in the league by some distance. Chippa, by contrast, are winless in 5 with just 4 points and one of the league’s weaker attacks. On paper this looks as lopsided as any fixture on the card this round, which is exactly why it’s worth watching: Chippa have nothing to lose against a Sundowns side that has barely dropped a point all season.

Table Before Matchday 6

Most sides have played 5 matches, Milford and Siwelele have played 6, and Sundowns have played 7 for the reason explained above. Here’s the log heading into this round.
